Education
I have a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology (1973) from California State University, Chico and a Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology (1990) from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto (now Sophia University). I have been in the private practice of marriage and family therapy since 1985, providing counseling and therapy to individuals, couples, families and groups.

Other Work
I have been an adjunct faculty member at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto teaching the Marriage and Family Therapy Course. I have also taught the Human Sexuality Course in the clinical Ph.D. program. I have taught two courses in the Behavioral Health Education Department of Kaiser Hospital (Redwood City, CA): Couples Communication and Overcoming Depression. For five years I supervised psychology interns counseling homeless families and individuals residing in four Shelter Network locations San Mateo County. For seven years I consulted with teachers at Edison-McNair Academy in East Palo Alto, CA helping them in the classroom to connect with students who are at risk for behavioral and emotional problems. I have led support groups for men with prostate cancer (Mills Peninsula Hospital) and for men whose wives have cancer (Stanford University Medical Center). Before licensing as a therapist I worked in Southern California and Australia with two Hospice programs for 10 years, supporting people with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
